It's simple - it's people - we're listening -
we have a social conscience
- We will audit all parks in Mount Isa and Camooweal. All residents will be given the opportunity to have a say on what equipment you would like to see in your park. We will act against alcohol consumption in parks.
- More horse paddocks will be created within three months of the election.
- Community Petitions will be encouraged.
- Two advisory community committees in Mount Isa and one in Camooweal will be created, and membership rotated to reflect peoples' views.
- An Abel Smith Parade open drain solution will be expendited within 6 months.
- We will place signage indicating parking details at either end of parking bays in the CBD as well as Street entrances.
- We will ensure good goverance and create our own internal audit function.
- There will be no Party Politics on council.
- The People's Group Council will shelve the plans for a weir.
- We will focus on accommodation and housing land availability.
Buchanan Park
- We will dispense with Rodeo Capital Limited.
- We will create an advisory committee of user group and council reps.
- We will manage Buchanan Park from within Council resources using in-house experience and technology.
- We will solve the riverbed litter and alcohol issues and will not tolerate flagrant abuse of Council local laws clearly outlined on signage.
- We shall bury any planned housing development on city parks
- We will widely consult the Community on a curfew for under 16 yo's.
- We will expedite Healy housing development and will review convenant restrictions on the Gliderport area to include quality affordable homes.
