Councillor John Molony JP (Com Dec)
John has lived in Mount Isa Local Government
area for 45 years. He was sworn in as Councillor in
2004, having previously served four terms (12
years) on Mount Isa City Council as Councillor and
two terms on Burke Shire Council (6 years) as
Mayor. John and wife Heather own and manage
their family Western Outfitter’s store in Marian St.,
Mount Isa. They have 3 children and 7
grandchildren.
John is Mayoral candidate for The People's Group.
The People's Group believes council governs with
the consent of the people, that the people should
be consulted on matters that affect their lives and
that consultation promises their input will have an
affect on the outcome.
The People's Group will
introduce an internal audit function to promote
transparency and accountability, which is rejected
by the current council. |
