Lauren Merrick
Lauren started general nursing training at Royal
Brisbane then Prince Charles Hospital becoming
an enrolled nurse in 1971.
With husband Barry and
two children first came to Mount Isa in 1977.
Nursed at Mount Isa Base Hospital for four years
then did a stint as a store woman and as a clerk in
the printing department at MIM. In 1996 Lauren
became the Mount Isa Agricultural Show Society
Secretary, a position she held until December
2007.
Lauren is Secretary to the Board of Management
of Mount Isa Community Development Inc. and
serves on three advisory groups. She is chairman
of the Greater Gundi Group.
